Real Weddings: It All Started in Asbury Park

Where Our Love Starts

“We were friends for five years before giving it all to our relationship which started in 2013,” says Rhiannon Walsh about becoming a couple with her now-husband. Rhiannon and Salvatore initially knew each other through mutual friends who shared a love for the local music scene. Back in the day, they frequently messaged each other on Myspace and soon became close friends.

Rhiannon was in love with Sal before he finally asked her on a date. He took her to dinner at a restaurant called At the Table before seeing one of their favorite bands, Saves the Day, at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, New Jersey. As they walked from the restaurant to the venue, Sal stopped and asked Rhiannon to be his girlfriend. The couple has been through it all together since that day in 2013.

On their four year anniversary, Sal took Rhiannon back to the restaurant where he asked her to be his girlfriend in Asbury. In a turn of events, the restaurant wasn’t actually open that night. Sal acted like he didn’t know the restaurant was closed and pretended to be angry. Rhiannon was trying to calm him down saying it wasn’t a big deal, but he kept saying no. He bent down to the ground pretending to take a moment for himself for what Rhiannon thought was a meltdown. Instead, he dropped his knee and pulled out a ring proclaiming his love, asking Rhiannon to be his wife! Rhiannon was beyond thrilled and cried tears of joy. They officially tied their knot where it all began!

The couple officially tied the knot on March, 23rd 2019 at The Gramercy in Hazlet, NJ. Rhiannon’s favorite part of her big day was standing back with her husband on the second floor and admiring all of their closest family and friends who celebrated their love and commitment to each other. Guests were impressed and thrilled by the amazing food and service provided at the reception, especially the Venetian table. The Maitre D’ was super accommodating, checking in with the couple that everything was going smoothly.

In addition to The Gramercy, Rhiannon and Salvatore worked with a very talented team of wedding vendors, including:
